Which bracket size?

A bracket is always 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64 lines wide. Any other number of teams leaves empty lines, and those become byes for the top seeds.

Questions

How do I print a bracket?

Choose the number of teams and the format, then press Print a blank bracket. Your browser’s print window opens with the bracket on landscape pages; choose Save as PDF there to keep a copy or send it on.

Can I print it with the team names filled in?

Yes. Type the names one per line, best first, press Make the bracket, then Print. Tap winners as games finish and print again for an updated copy.

What sizes can I print?

Any number from 2 to 64 teams. Sizes that aren’t 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64 get byes for the top seeds, marked on the bracket, so a 6 team bracket gives seeds 1 and 2 a bye to the semi-finals.

Will it fit on one page?

A single elimination bracket of up to 16 teams fits on one landscape page, and so does a double elimination bracket of up to 8. Bigger brackets run onto a second page.

Is there a printable double elimination bracket?

Yes. Switch the format to double elimination before printing: you get the winners bracket, the losers bracket and the grand final, with the reset match if it’s on.

Single elimination or double elimination?

Single elimination is a knockout: lose once and you’re out, and it takes one game fewer than the teams. Double elimination gives every team a second chance and takes about twice the games.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It’s free and needs no account. The bracket is made in your browser and the names you type are not sent anywhere; this browser keeps your bracket so a reload doesn’t lose it.
