Questions

What makes a good wedding hashtag?

Short, easy to spell after a glass of champagne, and yours alone. Capitalise each word (#TheNewReeds) so it reads at a glance; it works the same in lower case. Avoid letters that run together into another word, and say it out loud once.

How do I check nobody else has used it?

Tap Check next to a hashtag to open it on Instagram. If there are photos from someone else’s wedding, add the year or your first names (#TheNewReeds2027, #AnaAndBenReed) and check again.

Where do we put the hashtag?

On the wedding website and the save the date, on a sign at the reception and the bar, and on the tables. Guests use it when they post, so you find every photo in one place.

What if we’re not sharing a last name?

Leave the shared last name empty, or pick both joined. The ideas use your first names, both last names (#SilvaMeetsReed) and the year instead.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It’s free and needs no account. The hashtags are made in your browser and the names you type are not sent anywhere; this browser keeps them so a reload doesn’t lose them.
